After a year or so, we loose interest in our smartphones we bought with so much concern. We keep shifting from one phone to another and leave behind the old ones left only to be discarded.
Some of us love keeping memories. In case you don’t find any reason to keep them with you, do these things which will give a new life to your old smartphone.
Use it as an alarm clock
If your old smartphone doesn’t even have enough RAM to handle some occasional gaming, then you could use it as a bedside clock. Get yourself a nice clock app, such as Timely, and spend a couple bucks on a simple mobile phone stand or go all out on a speaker dock.
2. Turn it into a remote control
Whether you need a replacement remote for a home built media centre or for a cheap TV, you should find that any IR-equipped smartphone is capable of being reconfigured as a media remote, following a quick trip to the appropriate app store.
3. Make it a digital gym instructor
Your old smartphone can be used as an ideal gym device. Reformat the device to remove unnecessary apps, take out the sim card, and don’t log into Facebook or Twitter via Wi-Fi.Pick your favorite countless fitness-tracking apps and just pack it full of music and use it as an MP3 player when out and about or on the treadmill.
4. Make it a wireless hotspot
Most Android phones have this feature already built-in natively, so the only thing you will need is a spare data plan (mostly cheaper than minutes+data plans) that you can use for the hotspot.
5. Make it a gaming device
Playing games on your phone can be a lot of fun, but has a few demerits. It will eat up all your battery without realising and some games can take up a lot of storage space.Re-purposing your old mobile as a games machine can be handy.
