Eman Ahmed: World’s Heaviest Woman to be flown to India for surgery

A 36-year old woman named Eman Ahmed Abd Aty will be flown to India from her hometown Egypt via a chartered plane to Mumbai. Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala will perform a surgery named weight-loss surgery on Eman Ahmed.

Initially, Indian Embassy in Cairo denied Eman’s visa which means, it’s impossible for her to travel. However, Dr. Lakdawala’s tweet to Indian foreign Minister completely changed the situation.

The doctor asked the minister to help Eman for her operation in India.

Eman’s family members claimed that she weighs 500 kg (approx.) & also she has not been able to leave her house for 25 years. If the claim is true, she holds the record of world’s heaviest woman still alive.

Eman Ahmed weighs 5 kg at birth & was suffering from elephantiasis where the body parts swell down. At the age of 11, she was unable to walk rather she used to crawl. Since then, she has not been able to leave home.

It’s necessary for Eman to leave at least two to three months for the surgery. Moreover, The doctor said that it will take more 3 years to bring her weight under 100 kgs.

Hopefully, Dr. Lakdawala will be able to save her life!
