The festive season is finally here! E-commerce biggies – Flipkart, Amazon, and Snapdeal – are all set with firepower in their arsenal to gain the best out it. While Amazon’s Diwali sale started last night – Snapdeal and Flipkart will follow the yearly fashion of “Festive Sales” tomorrow.
Flipkart released a jacket ad in the Times of India announcing the ‘Big Billion Days Sale’ offers which one can avail only on the Flipkart app. Snapdeal released a two-page ad and trolled Flipkart and Amazon to announce their Diwali Sale offers.’ It was followed by Amazon which announced their ‘Great Indian Festive Sale’.
“Hang on India. The real deals begin only on the 2nd of October on India’s biggest sale – The #BigBillionDays. So first, wait for the 2nd,” goes the tweet by Flipkart.
And, just to add spice to the game, Flipkart yesterday released a GIF – which sweetly takes a dig on Snapdeal and Amazon and is getting viral over the net.
In the third edition of its Big Billion Day sale, Flipkart will offer no-cost EMIs and product exchange programmes aimed at attracting more revenue. Flipkart is also betting big on the sale of large appliances, besides extending its domination in the high-margin fashion and apparel segments.
To announce the second edition of the Flipkart Big Billion Days sale, the e-commerce giant has released an ad showcasing ‘Abhi Nahi’ situations, conceptualised by Bengaluru-based creative agency Chapter Five Brand Solutions. The highlight of the sale, this time, is that the sale is only for five days (Oct 13-17) and it is only on the App.
Soon after, Flipkart announced their dates of the sale, Amazon released a new campaign ‘Try’ to talk about their #AmazonFestiveSale on the same five days.
With the approaching festival season, India’s e-commerce sector is sure to become a battleground with Flipkart and Amazon India being the major players. It would be worth watching who emerges as the winner of this festive season.
