These Home Remedies will help you stay away from Dengue and Chikungunya


Dengue and chikungunya are both gripping India in worse ways than we can imagine. Here are some home remedies to prevent their massive outbreak.


  1. Papaya Leaves



“It helps in increasing the platelet count and reduces the symptoms of fever like body ache, chills, feeling low, getting tired easily and nausea,” says Dr. Gargi. You can crush the leaves and consume or drink the juice which helps in flushing out the toxins.


  1. Camphor with neem oil


Burn camphor with a few drops of neem oil. Leave the room closed for approximately 20 minutes. This will tackle the mosquito menace in your house.


  1. Tulsi


Tulsi (holy basil) leaves are very effective when it comes to treating chikungunya fever. Consuming 5-6 basil leaves after  boiling in water and preparing a concoction, reduces fever and boosts immunity.


  1. Turmeric


You can put turmeric in milk and then consume it. Turmeric is popularly known to boost metabolism and helps in making the healing process faster.


  1. Giloy Juice


Giloy is a brilliant herb to strengthen the immune system and protect body against infections. You can boil its stem and consume it as herbal water.


  1. Garlic


Garlic may have a strong and pungent odour but that is exactly why mosquitoes stay away. Crush a few pods of garlic, boil them in water and sprinkle the water in the room you want to keep mosquito free.


  1. Fenugreek Leaves


These leaves are known to reduce fever and act as a sedative to ease pain and promote more restful sleep for patients. You can soak the leaves in water and then drink it or you can get methi powder and mix it with water and have it.


  1. Coconut Oil


Mix coconut oil with a few drops of neem oil and apply it on the exposed skin. It acts as a natural mosquito repellant.
