My mother has this little hobby of believing that every guy her daughter talks to is her love interest.
Two years ago, my sister got completely fed up of this and devised a plan with me.
So, I went to Mother to have a ‘talk’ with her. 5 minutes later, I am telling her that my sister is a lesbian. To say that Mother got scared would be an understatement. She was mortified (Most Indian Mothers=homophobia at its peak).
Oh boy! Suddenly my mother wants my sister to interact with guys. She began asking, by herself, about all the guys she used to be against.
However, the problem is that neither of us sisters has yet told Mother that it was in fact, a lie.
So, the other day, I was looking at a picture of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt in the newspaper. I said Angelina is beautiful and Mother agreed.
My sister said Angelina is beautiful and Mother said, “Yeah, but why don’t you look at Brad Pitt?”
