Motorola India Releases Android Nougat for Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus

Just yesterday there were reports that Motorola has begun soak testing the Moto G4 Plus Nougat update, and now, the company has officially announced that the Android 7.0 update has been released for both Moto G4 and G4 Plus smartphones.

Motorola India has announced the roll out of the latest Android OS for the said devices on its official website.

Users who have these Motorola phones will see the update notification on their phones or they can manually check for the update by going into the About Phone settings.

It’s worth mentioning that while the soak test was being carried out in Brazil, the latest announcement regarding the Moto G4 and G4 Plus Nougat update has been made by Motorola on its India website.

Motorola had also announced the Android Nougat for its recently launched Moto Z series, but it appears that the update for that might still be in the works.

Here are some other changes that will come with the new update:

1. Quick switch between apps – Double tapping on the overview/ recent apps button will allow users to switch between two most recently used apps

2. Multi-window view – This will allow two apps to run side by side. Now you will be able to text a friend while watching a video side by side on your screen.

3. Work Mode – This new feature allows users to turn off the phone’s work apps when not at your work, making for a balanced work-life balance.

Notably, the update announcement on the Motorola India website comes shortly after the company began soak testing the update in Brazil earlier this week.

Soak testing is the process of releasing the update to a few end users, verifying and fixing any issues, and then rolling it out the general populace. It appears the soak test was successful, as the update has now started rolling out to general users in a phased manner.
