Nexus 6 now receiving Android 7.1.1 Nougat Update with January Security Update

Finally, Google rolled out the update to Android 7.1.1 Nougat in Nexus 6 smartphone. Although, Google’s own pixel smartphones and other Nexus devices have already received the update, but, Nexus 6 was deprived of the update due to a last minute bug.

To recall, the Android 7.1.1 update brings about several features. It includes app shortcuts, support for circular app icons, keyboard image insertion, new emojis, and more.

Previously, Nexus phones didn’t receive the Android 7.1.0 update, so 7.1.1 update becomes even more important for the lineup. Moreover, the Andriod 7.1.1 Nougat update for the Nexus 6 includes January Android Security.

Nexus 6 is one of the aging devices and this might be the last update that a smartphone receives from Google.

The phone comes with a 5.96-inch QHD display with pixel intensity of 493ppi and with a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels. It is powered by 2.7GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor coupled with 3GB of RAM.

The phone features a 13- Megapixel rear camera and 2-Megapixel front camera for the selfie lovers. It measures 159.26×82.98×10.06mm and weighs 184 grams.
