A National Investigation Agency (NIA) Officer Mohammad Tanzil was shot dead by two unidentified attackers near his hometown- Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh on Saturday night around 1:30 a.m. as the sources said.
Officer Tanzil was returning from a marriage function along with his wife and two children when they were confronted by two unidentified armed assailants near his residence in Sahaspur locality under the Sheohara police station. The unidentified gunmen came on motorcycles, shot the deceased Officer Tanzil 21 times while injuring his wife critically. Both the children were left unharmed. The point that raises eyebrows is that this attack happened after the five day long Pakistan Joint Investigation Team’s investigation of the January 2nd attack on Pathankot Airbase.
