PM Modi gave a clarion call to create togetherness and harmony through Yoga. He unveiled the 112 feet of Lord Shiv statue in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on Friday.
Modi unveiled the statue of ‘Adiyogi’- an avatar of Lord Shiva, which is to be considered first of the Yogis consecrated by Isha Yoga Centre founder Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev. The statue was at the foothills of Velliangiri mountains in Coimbatore district. He mentions that Yoga should be pancreas of lifestyle diseases, emotions and stress.
PM Modi had earlier greeted people on Friday and invoked Lord Shiva. He mentions people that they know what’s good or bad for them in their life, they can see using the third eye.
That, an 112-feet tall bust was made of steel, weighs almost 500 tons. It almost took a two and half years to design the statue and eight months to build it. Particularly for the event, a five-tier security blanket was placed around the city and at Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.
Maha Shivratri, which is a great night of Shiva, is celebrated annually in remembrance of overcoming darkness. The occasion is being observed by remembering Shiva and chanting prayers, fasting, practicing yoga and meditating.
Modi extols Yoga and even suggested that Yoga could be crucial for world peace.
‘every One in this world wants peace, not only physically from war and conflict, but also mentally.’
There are ample of evidence to compact stress by Yoga. If the body is considered to be a beautiful temple, then Yoga creates a beautiful one.
PM Modi underlined the need to protect nature, as it’s a part and parcel of our culture.
Considering the family of Lord Shiva as a symbol of harmony in diversity, Modi says Indians that India too is a nation full of diversity.
PM Modi even released a book on ‘Adiyogi’ written by Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev.
