A luxury bus has fallen into 20 feet deep ditch after hitting 2 parked cars killing 17 and gravely injuring 33. The mishap took place today (5th June) morning at the Pune-Mumbai highway. Reports suggest that the incident took place at 5.30 at the Pune-Mumbai Highway in the morning today said the Mumbai police.
Pune-Mumbai Highway Mishap
The Volvo bus ran into two cars parked on the left side of the Pune-Mumbai highway and all three vehicles reportedly fell into the deep ditch. The bus was coming from Satara and sources suggest that the other two vehicles came from Pune as well. The two cars, a Swift D’zire that had stopped due to a flat tire and an Innova, whose driver had stopped by to help with the tire were both parked on the side, one behind another, when the bus came hit the Innova and then the car and plunged into the ditch on the side.
Police and forces and the locals rushed to the site and began rescue procedures. 33 were injured in the accident and 17 have been found dead. The injured were rushed to MGM hospital in Panvel immediately. The death toll is said to increase taking into consideration the impact of the accident reported the police.

The reason behind the collision is not yet known. More information regarding the accident is awaited. In May, around 3 accident cases were reported on the Mumbai-Pune highway.
