Amarkhand is a popular Indian Summer Dessert made from Mango and Yogurt. It’s the variation of Shrikhand, where the Mango pulp is added to the desert. Needless to say, it’s very easy to make and is very tempting and delicious.
However, by adding chocolate takes the recipe to a different level. To adjust the bitterness of chocolate with the sweetness of mango, the different types of chocolates you can use. Let’s move on and see the Chocolate Amarkhand Mousse Recipe.
4 large egg yolks
4 tablespoons sugar
2 cups heavy cream
230gms bittersweet chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
250g of Amarkhand
- In a saucepan, mix egg yolks, 2 tablespoons sugar, and ¾ cup of heavy cream. Cook it on a low-medium heat, stirring continuously until the mixture coats the back of the spoon. Remove from the heat and add in melted chocolate and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Strain into another bowl and keep it aside, until it cools down completely.
- With the help of an electric hand mixer, whisk the remaining ¼ cups heavy cream with the remaining 2 tablespoons of sugar until stiff peaks are formed. Then, stir the cream into the cooled custard mixture, then gently fold the rest with the help of a spatula.
- Make it chilled for at least 30 minutes and spoon it into the serving plates. And, your Chocolate Amarkhand Mousse is now ready to be served.
