How come you remember about the disposal leaf plates and bowls where the prasad is being served at various religious spaces? Even in the banana leaf, the South Indian cuisine is served. Arey wait, have you forgotten the panipuri wala?

Well, those disposable leaf plates existed a way longer that we can actually remember. Those leaf plates were far better than the regular papers or plastic papers, for they are bio-degradable and eco-friendly.

You might think about where and why this discussion came from?

Interestingly, a few people of Germany got really inspired by the old-Indian fashionable plates that they started making plastic plates, bowls out of it. The company is called as the Leaf Republic, that is currently run by a small group of people that consists of a team of engineers and designers.

But, what drove them to build such a company? The philosophy behind this answers this question wonderfully. What’s the reason behind doing this? The company first went for funding in Kickstart Campaign.

They provide a range of plates, bowls, trays in different shapes and sizes. Unlike this, they also provide a bio-plastic lid, two layers of leaves with a waterproof layer of leaf-made paper sandwiched in between.
