Smartphone making companies are coming up with groundbreaking engineering and design innovations that are reducing the overall price of smartphones, allowing even the fastest performing devices to end up in the hands of those who are struggling due to financial constraints.
Then, there is the affluent 1 percent of society who will spend like there’s no tomorrow when it comes to standing out, and how exactly can one stand out? Purchasing expensive smartphones. Even a 128 GB iPhone 6 Plus will not be enough to appease their appetite. What they need is something much more opulent than that.
Here is a list of the world’s expensive smartphones worth noticing!
- HTC One Gold Edition
Apple’s gold-colored iPhone 5s might have sparked a gold rush in the smartphone industry. Both Samsung and HTC announced gold-coloured variants of flagships Galaxy S5 and One (M8) this year. But HTC was first to take the newfound gold obsession quite literally, making the “most expensive HTC phone ever created” – HTC One (M7) Gold Edition. We’re not surprised to know that only five of these made-in-gold phones were created – each valued at £2,750 (roughly Rs 2,75,000) each.
- iPhone 5 Black Diamond
The black diamond is one of the rarest jewels in all of the world. Stuart Hughes was able to find one of these black diamonds and place it in one of his custom iPhones. You might be surprised (or not) to know that there are other diamonds that are on this phone. Stuart Hughes got a call from a businessman in China and he wanted the phone to be the only one on the market, made especially for him. He got his wish and it cost him well over $15 million.
- Savelli Jarden Secret
This smartphone runs the Android platform but that is not the important detail that you should be looking out for. The phone priced at the US $120,000 comes with 75 baguette cut white diamonds, black alligator leather, and of course buttons that are finished in white gold.
- Vertu Signature Touch for Bently
Earlier this year, Vertu launched Signature Touch for Bentley. The smartphone is the result of automaker’s five-year partnership with the luxury smartphone maker. The cheapest Signature Touch in plain leather is priced at $9,000 and goes up all the way to $19,000. Buyers get a choice of eight leather colors and 16 stitching options to customize the smartphone. The smartphone bundles a Bentley app, which gives buyers access to exclusive content and events.
- Tonino Lamborghini Antares
Italian car maker Lamborghini’s owners also dabble in luxury goods, such as the phone in the image above. Priced at £2,500 (roughly Rs. 2,50,000) each, this phone is probably the best looking among the ones listed thus far. That is if you ignore the gold variant, whose looks can be described as the opposite of beautiful. Assuming you ever buy this phone, Lamborghini also sells a range of not-so-beautiful leather cases to compensate for the phone’s good looks. Let us know how you liked it.
